A territory of the United Kingdom, the Cayman Islands is the richest of all Caribbean islands based on its status as an offshore banking center. Most of the banking work is done remotely, however, so the main island of Grand Cayman still has mostly a tropical resort feel, with an English colonial twist.

Grand Cayman only has a few dozen hotels and resorts, with the greatest concentration along Seven Mile Beach on the west coast. Most are quite expensive, as is the island in general, but a few moderately priced hotels are available as well.
Visitors flock to the island during the entire year with most visitors vacationing during winter and spring break. Summer sees less visitors and lower prices, making it the perfect time to visit for those looking for a less expensive vacation.

Just south of Cuba lies the Cayman islands. Grand Cayman, it’s most visited, is a renown international island destination due to a few reasons: its clear waters, sunny days and mild temperatures.
There are basically two different seasons in the Cayman islands, one being ‘winter’ and the other ‘summer’. Though the difference between the two isn’t much, winter does carry stronger winds while summer brings the rain. In fact, summer is also hurricane season.
During April and May, with the winds starting to calm down and the summer rains still held at bay, you’ll find those are the two best months to snorkel and dive.
