Hotel seasons

Due to the presence of both cool days and nights, Orlando sees its peak season during the winter months  (November through February) when snow birds have colonized the area. Major holidays also see lots of visitors to the city, which thus causes hotels and resorts to up their nightly rate. Though the summer months tend to see lots of families traveling with their children because of summer recess, this time of year offers lower accommodation prices and the best bang for your buck.

Centrally located in the heart of Florida, otherwise known as the Sunshine State, Orlando is a large city made popular due to its grand amount of theme parks, including the internationally famous Walt Disney World. Thought of as a kid’s paradise, this city also offers lots to do and see for adults as well, though many adults easily find themselves being just as entertained by the theme parks as their children.

Even though the parks are pretty expensive in their own right, you can find some great deals on both hotels and dining options, making it so that at the end of your stay, you still have a little money leftover. If you are concerned about keeping your budget on track during your visit, then you should go ahead a take a look at our review of the Go Orlando Card. This card is a great money saver for those who plan on visiting a few attractions outside of the theme parks.

Dining options throughout the city and just outside include chain restaurants alongside lots of small local restaurants that focus on ‘American’ options. If you love burgers and fries, you’ll find tons of eateries serving these up, as well as a few great Italian, Japanese and Indian options. Of course the theme parks also offer fantastic eats as well, with one of the most noted being ‘The Rainforest Cafe’.

If one of the things you’d like to do during your visit is hit up a beach or two, you’ll find that you can easily get to either coast from Orlando within a few hours, making the city even more attractive.

weather advise for AmsterdamWeather advice

Known for mostly cool and pleasant weather throughout the year, there really isn’t any bad time to visit. The only thing that should be noted is that during hurricane season, Orlando does have a good chance of being hit if one ventures toward the state. Summertime does bring in some rain showers as well, which could hurt your afternoon plans if you don’t like the idea of getting wet. However, the rest of the year brings in comfortable and cool days and nights, making day adventures just as pleasant as evening outings. Spring time is especially nice for trips to one of Orlando’s many theme parks.
