Malaga is the largest city in Spain’s Costa del Sol and it’s one of the few places along the beach that includes some cultural offerings to go along with the sunbathing and drinking. But it’s here as a typical example of low to mid-range cities all along the Costa del Sol.
As you can see, hotel prices along the Costa del Sol vary widely, ranging from shabby bargain hotels to pristine 5-star hotels at outrageous prices. So there is literally something for every budget, at least assuming you can afford to fly in in the first place.
Package deals including a flight+hotel are extremely popular here, and are always worth checking before you decide. Still, it’s easy to get a cheap flight and book a cheap hotel on your own, so it works well either way.
In Malaga, and many other nearby towns, the food and drinks tend to be quite inexpensive by European standards, which combined with the sunny weather is why people come here in the first place.
