If vacationing in the Caribbean for a week or two sounds like your cup of tea, then you'll be happy to note we have been sorting out which islands are the best-value islands and which are better for those with bankrolls that allow them to avoid the riff-raff.
Recently we broke down the airfare market for Americans by listing the cheapest flights to the Caribbean by island and destination. For that one we used New York City as the starting point for all of them since it's by far the largest market for winter Caribbean flights and it's also the cheapest starting point for many islands. Those starting elsewhere will still find that list to be helpful because the order will stay more or less the same, with flights costing a bit more for most, depending on starting city. July is the trickiest month to visit Asia because it's one of the wettest months in most of the Tropical destinations, and the hottest (and often rainiest) month in most of the northern destinations. The good news is that there are still at least 9 good choices, and a few of them may surprise you.
Finding a great destination in Europe in the month of July is quite easy, so narrowing down your choices is really the tricky part. This is the single most crowded month in most of Europe's most touristy cities, although July (and August) can be less crowded than you might expect in the largest business cities such as Milan and Paris.
As we now have a series of articles that concentrate on several of the Caribbean islands to help winter travelers figure out which is the best for their budget and their style, we thought we'd start out by breaking things down by the price of the flights themselves.
The Caribbean is by far the most popular part of the world for cruises, and thanks to a surge in popularity of the activity, it can now be explored by those in almost every budget category. Considering it's mostly an all-inclusive holiday and the departure ports are generally near cheap and popular airports, a Caribbean cruise can be done so inexpensively that it might be shocking.
Originally the term safari was coined as a word to represent an overland journey. This was often referred to as a trip within Africa. Today however, the term safari has grown to represent any trip, whether overland or not, that involves the observation of wildlife in its natural environment. Safaris have also grown to vary in duration and price. Many of the original tours were only available to wealthy ‘explorers’ who wanted to scope out an area for future existence or hunting. Nowadays, prices accommodate all budget levels, allowing for easier access to the destination of your choice, as well as allowing you to travel and visit with your family or large group.
Finding the best places to go in July seems like it would be an easy task since almost everywhere in the Northern Hemisphere has its warmest and driest weather of the year this month. But it's actually not quite that easy, especially if you are looking for cheap destinations that also have good weather. Many of the most interesting cities in Asia are actually too hot in July, and many of the most interesting cities in Europe are too crowded and/or too expensive this month. But there is good news.
Over the last few years, the Mediterranean has become a hot spot for visitors from around the world. One of the best ways to experience everything the region has to offer is through a cruise. Not only will you get to experience a few different countries in a short amount of time, but you'll get to skip finding a hotel and having to fly here to there, and there and back again. In fact, the only flight you'll have to take is to the starting country and then back out again. Generally, ports are near popular airports, making this both easy and cheap.
Often referred to as the last frontier, Alaska is an outdoor lover's dream with sky high mountains, lush wilderness, glaciers, wildlife galore and a unique way of life that is not often found anywhere in the lower 48. But because Alaska is so large, it's sometimes hard to view a sizable amount in a short amount of time. That's where cruises come in. With a recent surge in popularity, Alaskan cruises have now become the best way to see Alaska, whether on a budget or not.
