Larger than nearby St. Thomas, St. Croix is another unincorporated part of the United States, but things are a bit different here. Of course English is the primary language so it’s popular with Americans, but it’s also a bit harder to reach since there are very few long-haul flights that come directly to the island.

Prices for resorts in St. Croix are in the mid-range for the Caribbean, with very few real budget places and only a handful of luxury resorts as well.

As the crowds in winter increase, so do the prices. During the rest of the year prices level out and even decrease during the summer months. If you’re looking to vacation during the shoulder seasons, May and late fall, you’ll be rewarded with balanced prices and great weather.

A visit to this island will present you with steady temperatures in the 70s to 80s along with sunny days and light breezes caused by the eastern trade winds.
Weather is generally great throughout the year except for hurricane season. During this time, St Croix tends to get the short end of the stick and experiences heavy rains, strong winds and structural damage in its towns. If you can, it’s best to plan your vacation outside of hurricane season, which runs from July to November, unless you decide to pay close attention to the weather during and before your trip.
