Is the Go Las Vegas Pass worth it? Go Las Vegas Pass review 2020

As Las Vegas continues to transform itself into a destination with something for everyone rather than just gamblers and nightlife people, things can become a bit more confusing right from the beginning. The city now boasts a long list of unique and interesting attractions, but unfortunately many of them are quite expensive when purchased individually which would end up making a trip to Sin City extremely exhausting to your wallet. This is where the Go Las Vegas Pass can be a great help for some but not others.

We have reviewed close to 20 of these “city pass” passes and some of them only provide good value for small numbers of people. The Go Las Vegas Pass, however, really stands out as great value for pretty much anyone who is interested in at least 3 of the 45 included attractions. In fact, this is the first pass we’ve seen where it’s possible to save money by just doing ONE attraction, and if 2 to 4 of the other attractions look interesting, it’s a very easy call. However, you can’t assume that the expensive attractions are great just because they are expensive, so do a bit of homework before buying.

Go Las Vegas Pass prices for 2020

Also known as the Las Vegas Explorer pass, the Go Las Vegas Pass isn’t just for adults but rather adults and children. This means that there are price differences not only with the amount of attractions chosen to visit but the age of the pass holder as well. As you’ll notice below, the Go passes for children are priced slightly lower than the ones for adults.

  • 3 Attraction Choices Adult $84, 3 Attraction Choices Child $75
  • 4 Attraction Choices Adult $110, 4 Attraction Choices Child $99
  • 5 Attraction Choices Adult $132, 5 Attraction Choices Child $122
  • 7 Attraction Choices Adult $174, 7 Attraction Choices Child $164

An important thing to note when buying a Go Pass is that the child pass is for children ages 3 through 12 and that most attractions are free to those under 3 years old. With that said, it is wise to contact your attraction of choice before visiting to make sure that young children do indeed get in for free.

Is the Go Las Vegas Pass a good deal

In order to obtain an accurate answer to this question, we must first look at everything the pass offers. With each pass purchased, the pass holder is granted admission into 3, 4, 5, or 7 attractions (based on size of pass) out of a grand total of 49 attractions in the area. What this means is that you’ll be able to skip the actual purchase of the admission ticket at the gate to each attraction and instead will be able to show your pass and then walk straight in. On top of that, you’ll also receive a guide complete with the hours of operation to each of the 45 attractions as well as directions to each. To make it even easier, the guide also includes a map of the area.

Now that we know what the Go Pass includes, it’s time to create a sample itinerary to get a better idea of whether or not the pass is worth it. Below you’ll find an itinerary that includes 5 attractions visited by an adult.

  • Big Bus Las Vegas Hop-On Hop-Off Day Standard Tour- $49.00
  • TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition- $35.00
  • A Meal at Planet Hollywood Restaurant- $25.00
  • Vegas! The Show- $116.61
  • Big Shot at the Stratosphere- $15.00

When all totaled together, the final admission cost to all of the above attractions comes out to $240.61. If you were to visit these same attractions with the Go Las Vegas Pass instead of paying at the gate, the cost would only be $132.00. When the prices are compared, you’ll find that there is a savings of $108.61, which is very impressive. If you end up purchasing your Go Las Vegas Pass at a discount, you’ll find that the savings are even more and luckily discounts are frequently available.

Are all of the attractions covered with the Go Las Vegas Pass worth a visit

No matter which way you look at it, it seems that each and every attraction included in the pass is well worth it. All of the attractions have positive reviews and there is a really good (and large) mix of things to do, helping to speak to every interest imaginable. If you’re traveling with a large group of individuals that all have very different interests, you should do just fine.

This variety helps the attractiveness of the Go Pass, as all members of a group or family should have no trouble finding a few of the attractions to be right up their alley.

How not to use the Go Las Vegas Pass

One important thing to keep in mind when visiting Las Vegas as a family with younger kids is that not all of the attractions available through the Go Las Vegas pass are kid friendly. This means that during the planning process, it’s important to outline which attractions are adult only and which are suitable for children. The last thing you want to do is buy a pass for your child and then realize that the activities planned won’t work.

Another thing you’ll want to avoid is trying to rush through the attractions to create time to see all of them. Unless you’re on a really tight vacation schedule and will only be in town for a short minute, there is no need to cram all of the attractions together. If you do this, you run the risk of not really getting the chance to enjoy each attraction. Each pass is activated the moment the first attraction is visited and is valid for a full 30 days going forward. This means that there is plenty of time to thoroughly enjoy each attraction, therefore making rush visits unnecessary. Another thing you don’t want to do is try to visit the same attraction more than once as each attraction is only valid for a single entry.

The bottom line

Though Las Vegas can be expensive, the Go Las Vegas Pass is a great tool to help lessen the cost while still allowing visits to some of the city’s most popular attractions. With each combination of attractions, the pass will save quite a lot of money. These savings can then be used for a nicer hotel, an extra dinner out or simply stay in your bank account. When all is said and done, the pass truly is a great money saving tool that can be utilized by several different types of travelers.

I still ended up getting the 3 day all inclusive go pass. For our needs, it seemed the best deal even after researching discounts elsewhere. 🙂

  2. Katie says:

Phil’s scenario is for TWO VIP tickets. Not just one. It seems the $116 price is highly inflated for just one ticket. Same with the price they say Blue Man group is worth. It’s worth half what is listed on their go pass site.

    1. Roger Wade says:

      Katie,

I’ve noticed that on many of these city pass offers they use the full retail price of pretty much everything they include. In most cases that’s the only price available, but with some things (evidently including these tickets) you can find pretty good discounts elsewhere. I think it’s wise to do this research like you’ve done, although these passes are still good value for many people. -Roger

      Phill,

The Go Las Vegas Pass site says it includes “general admission seating to VEGAS! The Show” and those are $20 cheaper per ticket than the “VIP” seats. You also save all of those other fees so it’s probably worth a slightly worse seat to save all of that money. The VIP seats are in front, but it’s not a huge venue. -Roger

  4. Jane Myers says:

I got the Las Vegas Advantage card before we traveled. I am a travel agent. I went to use the discount card at Hash House A GoGo in the Linq.
They would not accept it. Said they’d never heard of it. Our waiter asked 2 managers and they said no. Our bill was $125.00. Was very disappointed in the card.

    1. Roger Wade says:

      Jane,

I’m sorry to hear about that, but I don’t see the Hash House A GoGo even listed on the Go Las Vegas site, so I’m just as confused as the employees there. -Roger
